Meridian Hills' Jack Barber named 2009 PGA National Professional of the Year
Jack Barber has been the trusted and valued golf professional at Meridian Hills Country Club for 28 years and has been a PGA Golf Professional for 37 years. His notable accomplishments include PGA Golf Professional of the Year and the PGA Teacher of the Year in both Kentucky and Indiana. As an active member of the golfing community, Barber currently stands as the President of Indiana PGA. Although Jack has many personal successes, he is most proud of the number of assistants who have performed under his tutelage at Meridian Hills and therefore succeeded to be the head pros at other golf facilities around the country. Jack Barber was also named the 2009 National PGA Professional of the Year. The award for "PGA Golf Professional of the Year" is one of the highest honors the PGA can bestow. Candidates should possess outstanding qualities of leadership, strong moral character and a substantial record of service to the organization and the game of golf. The winner of this award will be held as a model PGA Golf Professional. |
